Service Technician Training

View 2009-2010 course schedule

By popular demand RAE Systems has restructured its Certified Service Technician Training program. As our product line has grown, the need to train technicians on all of our products pushed the limits of a two-day program. Additionally, we recognize that many technicians have been working on our products regularly and do not need to attend the same training every two years. RAE Systems Certified Service Technician Training has now been split into two separate programs:

  • Basic Certified Service Technician Training
Intended for new technicians with little or no previous gas detection or RAE Systems experience or others that want a refresher on our legacy products. This two-day program covers the basics of servicing gas detection instruments and covers RAE Systems’ established products: MultiRAE Plus, MiniRAE 2000 and ppbRAE Plus, QRAE and QRAE Plus and VRAE.

  • Advanced Certified Service Technician Training
This one-day program is an extension of the Basic Certified Service Technician Training and trains the experienced technician on the new RAE Systems products that have recently been introduced or that have not been covered in our older program. In Advanced Certified Service Technician Training students will learn about MiniRAE 3000, ppbRAE 3000 and MiniRAE Lite, QRAE II, AutoRAE and new products that will be announced in the future.
The two courses are given on consecutive days so that a technician can attend both courses in three days.

All RAE Systems distributors that operate a service center and offer service for RAE Systems instruments must employ a RAE Systems Certified Service Technician to be listed as a Factory Authorized Service Center or a RAE Authorized Warranty Repair Center.  The technician must attend a RAE Systems Certified Service Technician Training (Basic or Advanced) at least once every two years.  All technicians are required to attend Basic Certified Service Technician Training at least once and can be waived from attending it again if they regularly repair and service RAE instruments.

If you attended Certified Service Technician Training over two years ago you need to attend another to keep your certification.  If you have attended a Certified Service Technician Training in the past and have been regularly working on RAE Systems products, you do not have to attend the basic program and can attend the advanced program to maintain your certification.
